Overall Peekapoo grooming can take some work--and a good bit of that time will be spent maintaining these hybrids' wavy to curly coats.
Brushing will need to happen 3-4 times per week, if not daily, to minimize the development of tangles and mats. Brushing and grooming Peekapoo dogs is best done with either a pin or a slicker brush. To brush a Peekapoo: first wet the coat with water mist from a spray bottle (with some leave-in conditioner added if desired). Then starting at the shoulders, go through the coat section by section with the brush, moving in the direction of hair growth. If you run across a tangle or mat, first try working it out with your fingers, then if needed continue working through it with the end teeth of a greyhound comb.
Baths will generally be required monthly, unless of course the dog gets especially dirty or stinky and an "emergency bath" is in order. When bathing a Peekapoo, be sure to use canine shampoo and conditioner, as the kind made for humans has a different pH and will irritate the dog's skin. Also make sure to rinse all the soap from your Peekapoo's coat. Not doing so will cause further skin irritation. And after the bath, it's best to dry the coat with a hair dryer on its lowest heat setting.
These hybrids' wavy coats can sport a number of hairstyles as well. (See the Styling & Haircuts section below for more info.)
Though it's possible for owners to learn how to fulfill all the Peekapoo grooming needs themselves, many people rely on professional groomers for major tasks like bathing and haircuts. In any case, it's a good idea to take your Peekapoo to a pro at least once. The groomer can give the dog a nice makeover, and provide tips on how to groom a Peekapoo dog at home.
