Where to Get A Minnie Jack

Minnie Jacks may seem cute, but they possess high-energy and high-maintenance personalities. Finding Minnie Jack puppies for sale may be difficult as there tend to be few breeders for this hybrid that is crossbred from a hybrid (Miniature Doberman Pinschers) and a purebred (Jack Russell Terriers). They are not good for families with small children as they are extremely hyperactive and rather small dogs whose own demand to remain active can result in injury if you are not careful to be gentle. While they love to run and play, they need a home with a person (or people) willing to set aside a few hours a day, every day, to play with and exercise with. Before you adopt a Minnie Jack, you should consider if that is something you can accommodate for the next several years.

Minnie Jack Price

The Minnie Jack is a bizarre hybrid produced from an already remarkable Miniature Pinscher hybrid and the ultra-hyper Jack Russell Terrier. Were it not for the down-breeding (i.e., breeding to reduce size), the strength of the former and the unflappable behavior of the latter would be an impossibly muscled and perpetually moving mutt.

There is not much call for this hybrid, and there are not many breeders who produce them, so don't expect to pay much for a Minnie Jack puppy. Prices tend to be around $350 to $500 for a Minnie puppy. Don't expect to find any breeders with award-winning Doberman or Jack Russell bloodlines, however, as this mix doesn't appear to be appreciated by professional dog trainers and breeders.

Unlike most adorable dogs that are tiny replicas of larger dogs, the popularity of Minnie Jacks has not grown much, and this has kept the price down along with a low supply.
The smaller the Minnie, the higher the price may be.
Health guarantees for this unusual hybrid will probably increase the cost significantly, but such costs should not be avoided.
If in the extremely rare chance you find a reputable breeder offering Minnie Jack puppies from one or more dog show- / award-winning parents, you can expect to pay much more.

Finding A Free Minnie Jack

Minnie Jacks come from crossbreeding a Miniature Doberman Pinscher (Min Pin) with a Jack Russell Terrier.

The Min Pin is a hybrid that, when crossbred with the Jack Russell Terrier (a pure breed which is well-known for its inherent excitability) is a somewhat rare cross-breeding not because it's difficult to produce so much as much as it's not a puppy recommended to be produced. In the off-chance that you find a Minnie Jack at a local rescue, in a Craigslist ad (or other classifieds on a Web site) or even via a litter that a family member or friend may have available, you should understand a couple things: older Minnie Jacks that are free may be free at first but may come with a great many health and other problems that require an on-going litany of costs. Free puppies from family members, friends, etc., may have costly concerns as well. If you find a rescue that has a Minnie Jack available for free (or relatively free), be sure to ask as many questions as you desire — as well as to not be upset when as many or more questions are asked of you. (Reputable rescues tend to want to place pets in homes that will be good for the animals.)
