Vizsla Irish Setter Breed Description

In general, they are very mild-natured and not easily provoked to aggression or anger; this makes them great family dogs! Their nature is superb; they are affectionate, easy to train, loyal, and very good with family members - even with the very young. If you make it clear from the start that you are the pack leader, they will respect and follow your every move with devotion and loyalty. These dogs are fantastic as family pets, and will socialize very well with children.

A Vizsla Irish Setter will tolerate a cat, but not necessarily be loving to it; the breed is known to chase cats, but will do so out of playfulness rather than aggression. Give them time in a fenced in yard as well, to get rid of some energy. He is not generally dog aggressive and works well within a pack. They are not aggressive and are typically not overly territorial either. If left under-stimulated (training and exercise) these dogs may develop anxious and calamitous behaviors out of boredom. Socialization helps ensure that your Vizsla Irish Setter pup grows up to be a well-rounded dog.
