Where to Get A Shorkie Tzu

Generally, there are two methods for acquiring a Shorkie Tzu: adoption and purchase. If adopting a Shorkie is your preference, start by contacting local animal shelters by phone, in person or via the Web. It will also be a good idea to ask the shelter personnel if they're aware of anyone who might have Shorkies available; if you adopt from a private owner, make sure to find out as many details as possible about the parent dogs (including their size, temperament, and health), so you will be informed about the pup you take home.

But since the Shorkie Tzu is a designer hybrid, finding one that's available for adoption might prove difficult, so you may need to find Shorkie puppies for sale. Start by searching the local newspaper classifieds; if that doesn't work, search the Internet, using "Shorkies for sale" as keywords. You can look in your local Craigslist classifieds, or you can check out the sites of individual breeders (which may be numerous, especially if you live in an urban area). But by all means, make sure the breeder is reputable. This is best accomplished by visiting the breeder in person so you can view his or her facilities; it's also advised that you ask similar questions about the parent dogs and the breeder's reproduction methods.

Shorkie Tzu Price

The Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix price can vary greatly. Shorkie prices can range from as little as $200, or as much as $2,500; reputable breeders normally offer full-grown Shorkies starting at $500. If adopting from a shelter, expect to pay an adoption fee of $150-200.
