Chacy Ranior Breed Details
Below are details and specs for the Chacy Ranior dog breed.
The Chacy Ranior, formerly known as the Shichon, is a new mixed breed that is descended from crossbreeding several varieties of toy-sized breeds including the Shih Tzu, Bichon Frise, Yorkshire Terrier, Poodle, and Miniature Schnauzer, among others. The Chacy was created around 2000 specifically to accompany special-needs children; these dogs are sensitive, gentle, easily trained, and make perfect family companions, though they will need lots of love and attention.
Below are details and specs for the Chacy Ranior dog breed.
This is a small-sized breed. Height at the shoulders is 9-12 inches, and weight is 15-20 pounds.
This breed is stable, personable, intelligent, and curious. As its breeding suggests, a Chacy makes an excellent companion to children; the breed also socializes well with other pets. These dogs require a lot of love and attention, and may develop separation anxiety if left alone for extended periods, so having other animals around is a plus. They are easily trained and, though fairly active, will adapt well to apartment life.
A Chacy will need a moderate amount of care. Though it sheds little, its medium-length double coat will require frequent brushing (2-3 times per week); baths are necessary only occasionally. And a Chacy should require only moderate amounts of exercise and training.
These dogs have coats in a variety of colors including tan, liver, black, and white; the coats are solid or parti-colored. The breed was developed around the turn of the 21st century in Oklahoma by a lady named Dawn Littlefield, who after having worked with special-needs children, developed this breed to be perfectly suitable for mentally and physically challenged kids. She originally called the breed the Shichon, but changed the name to Chacy Ranior to honor her two children, Chase and Lacy.
