The Afghan Collie is a medium sized hybrid that resulted from crossing a Afghan Hound with a Border Collie. Afghan Collie, as hybrid dogs, will inherit characteristics from both parents but not always equally. Males stand 21 to 27.60 inches at the shoulder and weigh 35 to 57 pounds ; females stand 19 to 25 inches and weigh 30.60 to 50 pounds.

This breed is energetic and fun, enjoys playing with other pets and older children but should not be left alone with small children. He is typically good with children, although may let small children know he has had enough even though they still want to play and interact. These loyal, loving dogs are typically friendly and can gets along with everyone, and he enjoys being part of his family.

Afghan Collies do well with other pets and dogs. They do like other pets but need to be socialized young and may need to be supervised with cats due to their instinctive prey drive. The Afghan Collie is a moderately energetic breed that requires regular exercise to stay healthy. This breed might not aggressive in any way. They form strong attachments to their families and will suffer if left alone for long periods.
