Westie Staff Breed Description

This hybrid is affection and devoted toward its family including children, but it is slightly more delicate, so it is not suited for small youngsters or rough play. The Westie Staff is an energetic, bright dog who is friendly and playful. This breed is well-known for being extremely devoted companions, and they are fine watchdogs.

He is a loyal and spirited dog who will happily chase cats and other small animals. The combination of the two results in a highly intelligent and energetic animal with an agreeable temperament and an intense work drive. Training and socialization should be started at a young age to ensure he does not become suspicious or overly aggressive when meeting strangers. They are not aggressive and are typically not overly territorial either. They need to be trained to prevent them from doing naughty things when left unattended such as chew up your furniture or dig escape routes under the fence. Socializing them to other environments and dogs by taking them to the dog park is also important in order to have a well-rounded pet.
