While the Bedlington Springer Spaniel may be a bit stubborn at times, patience and a firm but gentle hand will be enough to encourage him forward. They will closely bond with their special person and will be affectionate, charming and funny. They are terrific family pets, as they are quiet and patient with kids. These dogs will be affectionate and charming with their closely bonded owner and pretty friendly towards strangers; or at least they are unlikely to be aggressive or bark.
While he is affectionate and loves his family, a Bedlington Springer Spaniel is always ready for the chase, whether it's vermin or cats. The hybrid combination of the two will be energetic, enthusiastic, and eager for fun. Most Bedlington Springer Spaniel that are properly socialized do not exhibit the aggressiveness mentioned previously. Bedlington Springer Spaniel love attention and affection and dislike being left alone. While they do wonderfully with other animals and people, the Bedlington Springer Spaniel may not be the best choice for a first-time dog owner.
