Ja Chon Breed Description

These dogs are responsive to gentle and consistent training, but can be sensitive to over-correction and will occasionally exhibit a stubborn streak. They are intelligent and gentle dogs and make great family pets and are also good with older children. Most Ja Chon can be loving, friendly companions! This alert and loyal breed was bred to be a companion dog and may have a social and independent streak.

The Ja Chon requires early socialization in order to learn what behavior is proper around children and other pets. While they are not very active dogs, they will enjoy a walks to burn off energy. They might bark at strangers approaching their territory but should not be relied upon to put up an aggressive defense. This hybrid may be territorial due to his Japanese Chin characteristics and can have a stubborn streak as well. These dogs can also be unusually bossy until they get what they want, and may bark or become destructive if left alone for too long.
