Crested Peke Breed Description

They are generally fairly good with small children if socialized with them at an early age, but really make better companions for adults and older children due to their occasional possessiveness and bossiness. This breed is energetic and fun, enjoys playing with other pets and older children but should not be left alone with small children. This breed is known for its protective ways and is a good addition as a family dog.

They're not so affectionate with other small animals. They perform well as watch dogs, as they will bark at any strangers but will not become aggressive. Both parent breeds are independent, stubborn and territorial. This being said, if you will have to leave your pet alone for long periods of time or can't stand a dog on the couch or bed -- this little dog is probably not for you. Members of this breed can do well inside the house and indoors owners say they are well-mannered and relaxed.
